BBPGlobal offers DID (Direct Inward Dial) phone numbers to all VoIP users regardless of providers
We currently offer numbers in all capital cities in Australia (Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Canberra and Perth), Auckland, New Zealand, and Toronto, Canada; with more locations to come. One or more DID’s can be mapped to a BBPGlobal extension regardless of geographical location. There is no contract with low yearly fees charged in advance. Details can be found on the BBPGlobal website. Residential users can buy DID’s to map their BBPGlobal account, or to the VoIP account of their providers in Australia or around the world. Business users can buy a range of numbers to map their own IP-PABX to receive calls via PSTN.

BBPGlobal offers untimed calls to all Australian land lines
BBPGlobal announces today to offer another rate plan tailor-made to the demand of many Australians who want untimed calls to all Australian cities. The new rate to Australian land lines is 10c per call, and to Australian mobile is 29c per min. With the introduction of the new rate plan, BBPGlobal users now have the option to choose either the standard plan or the new Australian Untimed Plan each time they recharge their accounts online. There is no contract with BBPGlobal.

SJLabs releases today a new version of its award-winning softphone for BBPGlobal's users to download and use for free. The free version supports the commonly used codecs such as GSM, G711 A/u, and iLBC. SJPhone also supports the following end-user options: 3-way (and multi-way) calling, call forward, transfer, hold, mute, call logs, contact lists, and speed-dials.

New user friendly BBPGlobal website goes live
Broadbandphone Pty Ltd launched it's BBPGlobal VoIP service in December 2004. Since the launch of BBPGlobal, there has been a fantastic response to the product with many many users worldwide using it on a daily basis. On 3rd May 2005, Broadbandphone Pty Ltd launched a new, improved and dedicated website for the BBPGlobal product, which allows users easier navigation and understanding of BBPGlobal. This new website allows users to manage their accounts, buy credit, listen to voice mail and many other features.

The award-winning SJPhone has released a new free version SJPhone for BBPGlobal. The Windows version of SJPhone is very easy to install, and comes with cool features such as call conferencing and Microsoft Outlook address book integration.

BBPGlobal sets up its second sip proxy server using standard sip ports
BBPGlobal has set up a new sip proxy server sip2.bbpglobal.com. BBPGlobal users are free to register their sip devices to either the existing sip1.bbpglobal.com:5190 (using non-standard port 5190) or the new sip2.bbpglobal.com (using standard port 5060). The new proxy server runs on the AAPT Internet backbone. Aussies and Kiwis should expect better performance connecting to the new sip server.

BBPGlobal extends free service
BBPGlobal has setup interchange numbers so that you can use your free service to call users of overseas VOIP service providers by using a prefix. We will continue to develop this and add as many service providers as possible. For example, to call FWD users, dial **393 followed by the FWD number from your BBPGlobal phone. BBPGlobal now has free calls to International toll free numbers
Call toll free numbers in different countries throughout the world by prefixing the toll free number with ** and country code . Previously it was only possible to dial these numbers from within that country. Now using this service you can dial to the following countries' toll free numbers with your BBPGlobal account - USA, Canada, Germany, Australia, and New Zealand. For example, to call Australia toll free, dial **61800 xxx xxx.
